Audrey Dian Gurski; age 79 of Shepherd, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Prestige Centre in Mt. Pleasant with family by her side. Audrey was born January 2, 1946 the daughter of Daniel and Vivian (Robinson) Jerome. She married Gaylord “Skip” Gurski August 30, 1969. She was quite into politics and always volunteered to help on election days for Chippewa Township. Audrey enjoyed bird watching, working with ceramics, painting, planting her large vegetable gardens, and just being out in the warm weather. She was very patriotic and very much enjoyed traveling to watch 4th of July fireworks. She loved the Maple Syrup Festival and even riding the amusement rides and was known for closing her eyes on the more thrilling rides. In her younger years, she played the clarinet in the marching band and liked to dance as well. Audrey was known making the best stove topped popcorn. She loved Christmas time. Audrey was a very fun grandma didn’t often use the word “no.” Audrey is survived by 2 children Jennifer (Steven) Crawley of Drummond Island and Jeffery (Sondra) Gurski of Mt. Pleasant; 4 grandchildren Damian Gurski of Mt. Pleasant, Shealee Crawley of Mt. Pleasant, Kory (Berenisse Velasquez) Crawley of St. Louis, and Dominique (Devin) Martyn of Elwell; 8 great grandchildren Rory, Jase, Alaina, Veda, Sawyer, Alex, Andrea, and Jacob; 4 siblings Jan (Fred) Nelson of Alma, Bruce (Pam) Jerome of Novi, Kevin (Dawn) Jerome of Pompeii, and Scott (Shelly) Jerome of Fairfield Township in Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey is preceded by both her parents; her husband Skip; granddaughter Samantha; and 3 siblings Thomas, Gregg, and Marcia Jerome. Services for Audrey will be Wednesday, April 23 at 11 A.M. at Berry Funeral Home with Matt Boughan officiating with visitation from 10 A.M. until time of service. There will be a visitation Tuesday, April 22 from 5 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made on behalf of Audrey to the Maple Syrup Festival of Shepherd.
