On January 27, 1937, snow was melting and the creek was flowing when a beautiful baby girl was born. She was the eleventh of twelve children, born to Hugh and Goldie (Northrup) Wyeth. It was recollected, the sibling’s joy and excitement to hear their new baby sister’s first cry. Marlene grew up in a log home in the Alma area. She shared heartwarming memories of her horses and working on the farm. Although it was a demanding life for families back in those days, Marlene recalled going to church camp as the highlight of her summers and established lifelong friends. She attended Alma High School where Marlene where she met Albert who eventually became her husband in 1954. They enjoyed many activities together such as yard/estate sales, camping at Big Lake, and morel mushrooming. By the time she retired, Marlene had dedicated over thirty years to residents of the Masonic Home. She loved her family, extended family, and friends. Marlene took on her sister’s motto: “I don’t need any help, I can do it myself. I’m a tough old bird.” Then the family would say that was the Wyeth stubbornness in her. Even with COPD, she fought to the very end surrounded by her family. On September 5, 2025, Jesus took her into his loving arms. Marlene is survived by her four children Janice Donley, Diane (Bob) Brooks, Lee Roethlisberger, and Allen (Ellie) Roethlisberger; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; her brother Keith (Linda) Wyeth; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her husband Albert; son-in-law; daughter-in-law; and 10 siblings.
