William Emmet Granger; age 84 of Mt. Pleasant passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 29, 2025 at MyMichigan Medical Center of Clare. Bill was born July 24, 1941 the son of George and Opal (McBride) Granger. He enjoyed gardening, planting trees, gathering acorns, and knife making. In his younger years he enjoyed making model airplanes. Bill also enjoyed antiquing and going to flea markets. Bill was a proud veteran of the Navy and enjoyed traveling and was also a very social person. He worked over 30 years as a pipe fitter journeyman for Dow Chemical. Bill married Jane Knipe in December of 1962 and she preceded him in death in 2020. Bill married Linda Lewenberger May 21, 2022. Bill is survived by his wife Linda; 2 daughters Terri Granger of Mt. Pleasant and Llara (Lee Roethlisberger) Granger of Shepherd; 3 grandchildren Dylan, Crystal, and Olivia; 8 great grandchildren; his brother Ralph (Becky) Granger of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. Bill is preceded by his first wife Jane; both his parents; his son Clifford “Kipp” Granger; and siblings Laurence Granger and Bonita Brooks. Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service Saturday, October 11 at 11 A.M. at Chippewa Township Cemetery followed by a celebration of life from noon until 3 P.M. at the Maple Room in Shepherd. Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.
