Mark Scott Painter January 13, 1960 - December 23, 2025

Mark Scott Painter; age 65 of Alma passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at his home. Mark was born January 13, 1960 the son of Elwin and Nila (Richards) Painter. He enjoyed fishing, camping, fixing and working on small engines, and watching his Detroit Tigers and Lions. Mark married Bobbie Jo Steffenhagen in 1998. Mark is survived by his 2 daughters Shelbi (James) Nunamaker of Alma and Erin (Christian) Morado of Mt. Pleasant; 2 grandchildren Henry Nunamaker and Wren Morado along with one grandchild on the way; 4 siblings Mike Painter, Tracy (Nathan) Mikel, Spencer (Valerie) Painter, and Pam Painter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark is preceded by both his parents; his wife Bobbie Jo; and siblings Darrol Painter, Jack Painter, Janet Allen, Robert Painter, Marsha Greene, and Randal Painter. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services per wishes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd. Donations can be made to Berry Funeral Home to help with cremation costs.
