Mona Jean Courter; age 57 of Sumner passed away Saturday, January 10 at her home. Mona was born June 26, 1968 the daughter of Jacob and Sharon (Kemp) Helman. She enjoyed being outside weather tending to her vegetable garden, watching her birds, kayaking, being around the lake, riding her quad, or just being around a bonfire hanging out with friends. Mona is survived by her mother Sharon Helman of Sumner; her son Tyler (Brianna) Courter of Alma; 5 grandchildren Lexi, Thomas, Landon, Emma, and Vincent; her sister Rita (Tom) Clark of Orleans; and two nephews Billy and Brent Avery. Mona is preceded by her father Jacob Helman. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1 P.M. at the Sumner Township Community Center at 10820 Pine Street, Sumner, MI 48889. Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.
