William Roger Shell; age 87 of Alma passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Bill was born September 25, 1938 the son of Horace and Mildred (Spence) Shell. He served honorably in the Marines and later in the United States Army. Bill married Song Choi March 28, 1961. He worked as a laborer in the automotive industry for many years and later as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and doing carpentry work in his shop. Bill is survived by his wife Song; his sister Brenda (Jim) Clark of Florida; nieces and nephews David (Windy) Shell of Florida, Tim (Danette) Shell of Florida, Song Yol (Sang Chang) Yu of Lansing, Mi (Doosoo Han) Yu of Chicago, Song Il (Eunjong) Yu of Alabama, and Song Ki (Jee Eun Kim) Yu of New York. Bill is preceded by both his parents; his brother Thomas W. Shell; and nephew Wayne Shell. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service on Friday, April 17 at 1 P.M. at Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd with Reverend William Chu officiating.
