Robert Dale Wineman, 73 of Farwell, Michigan died peacefully at Woodland Hospice House surrounded by family on June 24, 2026. Services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 1:00pm at Westlawn Church of Christ in Shepherd with Brain Ross officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 11:00am until the time of service. He was born in St Louis, Michigan the son of Oliver and Iva (Bennett) Wineman on January 5, 1953. He married his wife, Shirley Shoe Curtiss Wineman on October 27, 1973 and together the couple celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing.
Bob joined the Army and served in Germany for several years before being stationed at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, where he worked with the Space Shuttle Columbia. After retiring from the Army, Bob and Shirley moved to College Station, where Bob worked for Texas A&M University in the IT and Electrical Department until his retirement. Following his retirement, Bob and Shirley traveled around the country in their motorhome, visiting family and friends before moving to Farwell, where they presently reside. Bob loved tinkering with his tools and spending time in his garage working on various projects.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Wineman of Farwell; children, Gary {Linda} Curtiss, Greg {Della} Curtiss, Robert {Debbie} Curtiss, Steve {Laura} Curtiss, Phillip {Bennie} Curtiss, Mike Curtiss and Angela Brewer. Daughter in law, Peggy Curtiss. 27 grandchildren and multiple great, grandchildren and great, great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Iva Wineman; brothers, John, Jim. Mike, Terry and Thomas; and sisters, Pat Green and Sue Hunger; son, Barry Curtiss; daughter in law Mary Curtiss; grandchildren Gary Curtiss Jr. and Morgan Curtiss.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westlawn Church of Christ. Envelopes are available at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd.
