Berneice Jean Rolston

Berneice Jean Rolston, age 82, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Thursday, October 29, 2026, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Berneice, affectionately known as Bernie, was born October 2, 1944, in Weidman, Michigan, the daughter of Finnan and Dorotha (Judge) Cuthbert. She married Russell Rolston on October 19, 1963, in Shepherd, Michigan.

Bernie will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and deep faith in the Lord. She was a wonderful wife and mother who possessed incredible homemaking and seamstress skills. Over the years, she carefully and meticulously altered many wedding dresses for family and close friends. Caring for her family brought her great joy, which was reflected in her beautiful home, delicious meals, and the many finely handmade garments she created for her daughter.

Bernie is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Russell Rolston of Mt. Pleasant; her daughter, Brenda Rolston of Shepherd; her brother, John Cuthbert of Sears; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mable Marcides Osborn and Evelyn Isanhart.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dakota Hartupee and Carol Whitbeck of The Care Team Hospice for their incredible care, kindness, and compassion shown to Bernie and her family during this difficult time.

Funeral services for Bernie will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 12 noon at Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd, with Jean Thrush officiating. Visitation will take place Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
