Date of Funeral

September 12, 2026

Camie Cay Pope passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 9, 2026, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital, with her family at her side.

Camie was born March 14, 1964, the daughter of Donald and Charlotte (Boxton) Wicker.

Camie was a hardworking, devoted, and family-oriented person who could always be counted on by those she loved. If someone needed her, no matter the time, place, or circumstance, Camie was there. She rarely, if ever, said no to someone in need and had a special way of treating everyone’s children as though they were her own. She was especially protective of her baby brother throughout her life.

Camie loved being outdoors, especially spending time at the beach and soaking up the sunshine. She took great pride in her gardens and particularly loved her flowers. She enjoyed listening to country music and was well known for keeping an immaculate, spotless home. Family gatherings also wouldn’t have been quite the same without Camie’s famous red Jell-O.

Above all else, Camie loved her family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, and she made a point of ensuring that the people in her life always knew just how much they were loved. She also dearly loved her cat, Sweets, who held a very special place in her heart.

Camie is survived by her four children, Devin (Ruthann) Pope Sr. of Mount Pleasant, Jorden Pope of Mount Pleasant, Cherish (Travis Kendall) Pope of Mount Pleasant, and Justis (Alexis Armstrong) Pope of Mount Pleasant; 23 grandchildren, Devin Jr., Jayden, Serenity, Genisis, Kenson, Kameron, Kashmier, Konner, Aanahbella, Aausten, Dudu, Alexis, Zoe, Zane, Addyson, Vinson, Amare, Madisen, Izabella, Peyton, Laila, Justis II, and Elliana; one great-grandchild, Winonna; former partner and father of her children, Charles Pope; brother, Rocki (Kimberly) Wicker; niece and nephew, Julia and Preston Wicker; and numerous in-laws, extended family members, and close friends.

Camie was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Charlotte Wicker; and her beloved cat, Sweets.

There will be a memorial service for Camie on Saturday, September 12 at 11 A.M. at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church. Camie’s favorite color was teal. The family is encouraging people to wear teal for the service.
