Harold L. Metcalf, age 88 of Shepherd passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on March 25th. Funeral services will be 1:00pm on Saturday, March 29th at Shepherd United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Chu officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00p to 8:00p at Berry Funeral Home.
Harold was born July 1, 1936 in Winn to Welby and Lucetta Metcalf. He married Judy Nunn on June 27, 1964 in Rochester. He retired from Morbark Industries in Winn in 1998 after many years of service. He was passionate about sharing his love of horses with his family and friends and many acquaintances. For many years he enjoyed his coffee crew and sharing all of their wisdom. He was a member of the Shepherd United Methodist Church, the Shepherd Rotary Club and the Masonic Lodge.
Harold is survived by his wife Judy, son Rod (Amy), daughter Melissa (Kerrick) Kontio; four grandchildren, John (Lindsay) Metcalf, Madison (Josh) Hill, Keaton (fiancé Maggie) Kontio and Mackenzie Kontio; three great grandchildren Hadley and Lucy Metcalf and Mason Hill; and one sister, Loraine Wheeler.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Elwin Metcalf; two sisters, Sue Richardson and Marilyn Dush; and grandson Jordin Metcalf.
Memorials may be given to the Shepherd Rotary Club or Goshen Valley Boys Ranch.
