Henry dringenberg

We announce the end of an era as Henry Dringenberg, aged 96 joyously joined his heavenly family on June 21st, 2025. Most knew him as Hank, many as Junior, but all knew him as a sweet, generous, charitable man of good cheer always handy with tools, and in his last three months dominating as the reigning undisputed “Bingo King” at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Hank served in the U.S. Army in Colorado during a peaceful period, and later got a solid job at GM in Lansing as a welder, from which he retired in 1982. After that, he spent many hours working in yard and home and in his down time watching hilarious movies like “The Pink Panther “and “Naked Gun” series. He also loved Yahtzee, cruising the thrift stores, taking long rides and even trying his luck at the slots! If you knew Hank, you knew he loved puzzles -master of both crossword and jigsaw. He lost his beloved wife Ruth over a decade ago and all of his siblings while astounding his doctors by living to almost 97 (in part due to daily salads and a ritualistic can of Mt. Dew). He joined “the Care team” (hospice) in April 2024, but Henry was not a quitter! He kept his wits about him till the end and was someone who loved to keep working and trying. After his legs gave out, he was found continuously assembling and framing numerous jigsaw puzzles. He will be fondly remembered always by those who loved him most. (Everyone) He will be missed by his children, legacy of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a plethora of happy fat birds and squirrels.

Thanks to The Good Lord, family, The Care Team, and ICMF for keeping his last months happy ones. Thank you to Berry Funeral home for cremation and you for reading this obituary.
