Ingelise “Lisa” (Espensen) Dolby, age 87, of Alma passed away Thursday, May 28th with her son Scott, his wife Laura, and her granddaughters Melissa and Brittney by her side. Lisa was born September 25, 1938 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Mr. and Mrs. Espensen. It was there that she met her future husband Raymond Dolby while he was serving in the Army. She then moved to Michigan and they married July 18, 1958 in St. Clair Shores where they began and started their family. After many years in St. Clair Shores, they then moved to the Remus area where she and her husband owned and operated The Golden Key for 15 years. Following that, they moved to Shepherd and operated the Hide-a-Way Bar on the county line for several years. Many friendships and memories were made during those years that are still talked about to this day. Shortly after selling the bar they then moved to Florida. In Florida, Lisa was a caregiver for the elderly. She loved her people with all her heart. She also enjoyed her flowers and swimming in the ocean from the time she was a little girl back home to all those years in Florida. She especially loved her family.
She is survived by her 3 children, Scott (Laura) Dolby, Julie (Rick) Adams, and Jennifer Wagner; 9 grandchildren, Melissa (Curtis) Fox, Brittney (Patrick) Cook, Samantha (Jeremy) Martin, David Phillips, Eric Dolby, Brian Dolby, Millie Wagner, Marilyn Wagner, and Michael Riggs; and several Great Grandchildren; her brother Neils Iversen, and 2 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Kem Dolby, and her
Great Grandson Talan.
Cremation has taken place and a private service is being planned for a later date.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Divine Assisted
Living for the companionship care and dignity provided to Lisa during her residency. A special thank you is also extended to The Hospice Care Team for their unwavering support, comfort and specialized care during her entire stay and especially during her final days. They all loved Lisa as if she was part of their own family.
