Jolene Elaine Henderson, age 83, of Vestaburg, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis.

Jolene was born September 17, 1942, the daughter of Donald and Mary Lou (Forman) Brown. She married Robert James “Bob” Henderson Sr. on March 7, 1959.

Jolene loved camping and enjoyed being on the road, especially on the weekends. Whether she was heading out on a camping adventure or traveling to visit family, she enjoyed getting away and spending time with the people she loved.

She was also known as a “human calculator” when it came to money and had a knack for keeping track of every dollar. Jolene was a true coupon queen and would travel all over in search of a good deal. She also enjoyed playing bingo.

Family was especially important to Jolene. She lovingly cared for her father for quite some time and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jolene is survived by her daughter, Dana (Lonny) Rasmussen; four grandchildren, Nikki (Eric) Goffnett, Cassidy (Casey) Rasmussen, Amanda (Jared) Holsworth, and Zachary (Brandon) Henderson; eight great-grandchildren, Audree, Keegan, Logan, Leyland, Blake, Tessa, Nova, and Karlie; two brothers, Don (Carol) Brown Jr. and Gary (Debi) Brown; daughter-in-law, Barbara Henderson; sisters-in-law, Virginia Taylor and Linda (Steve) Flint; brother-in-law, George Duncan; special family friend, Bruce Zimmerman; and several nieces and nephews.

Jolene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James “Bob” Henderson Sr.; her parents, Donald and Mary Lou Brown; her son, Robert Henderson Jr.; three grandchildren, Katie Henderson, Matt Griffin, and Michael Genaw; sisters, Peggy Knoll and Kay Watson; mother- and father-in-law, Jean and Chuck Cullen; father-in-law, Burt Kirk; brothers-in-law, Don Taylor, Kenny Goss, and George Schnelle; and sisters-in-law, Carol Duncan, Patty Goss, and Kathy Schnelle.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Jolene will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Vestaburg Church of Christ, with Pastor Jerry Larkin officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.
