Peggy Jo Sztuczko, age 64, of St. Louis, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Lake of Dreams Campground.
Peggy was born on June 26, 1962, the daughter of James and Barbara (Bowen) Waldbillig. She married the love of her life, Carl Sztuczko, on June 6, 1987, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and caring for others.
Peggy was a kind, compassionate, and loving person who adored her children and cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren. She dedicated more than 30 years of her life to serving as a special education teacher, primarily with the St. Louis Public School System. The love and devotion she showed her students was undeniable and was deeply felt throughout the community. She made a lasting impact on countless lives through her patience, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to helping every child succeed.
In her later years, Peggy discovered a passion for painting and became a talented artist. Her creativity brought her great joy and was another way she shared beauty and kindness with those around her.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Carl Sztuczko; her daughter, Jenna (Nolan Canada) Moede of Mount Pleasant; her son, Curtis Sztuczko of St. Louis; her two grandsons, Camden and Cayden; her sisters, Glenda (Martin) Carbaugh of Avon, Ohio, Jamee Gunn of Greenville, and Michele Waldbillig of Greenville; her sister-in-law, Cathy Waldbillig of Phoenix, Arizona; her loving fur baby Trixie, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Barbara Waldbillig, and her brother, Tom Waldbillig.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Berry Funeral Home on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Deacon Todd Lovas officiating. The family asks that you consider wearing something purple, which was Peggy’s favorite color.
Memorial contributions may be made in Peggy’s memory to Winn Elementary School.
