Renee Ellen Hunt
August 18, 1971 – July 25, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Renee Ellen Hunt, who died peacefully on July 25, 2025, at age 53 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, MI, surrounded by love.
Born in Lakeview, MI, to Frankie Lee Hunt Sr. and Christina Mary Melinowski (Hunt), she was raised in Weidman, MI, and graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1991.
After high school, she met her life partner, Scott Lyman Boyd, and together they built a home filled with love and laughter. Renee was a proud and devoted mother to Anthony (1992), Aaron (1995), and Alyssa (2001). She worked in direct care, food service, and eventually became a full-time homemaker—a role she cherished most.
In 2015, she became “Gigi” to her first grandchild, and went on to welcome three more. Her grandchildren—Mikey, Kia, AJ, and Addy—were her greatest joy. Renee was known for her open heart, listening ear, and endless generosity. Her home always had room for one more, and her love knew no bounds.
She is survived by her partner Scott Boyd, children Anthony (Mallory), Aaron (Brittany), and Alyssa (Jared); grandchildren Mikey, Kia, AJ, and Addy; mother Christina Hunt; brother Frankie Jr. (Dawn); niece Darcy and nephew Dusty, along with many extended family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Frankie Sr., aunt Doris Melinowski (Vanbuskirk), uncle Ted Melinowski, cousin Brian Hunt, uncle Lyle Hunt, and grandparents Ralph & Margaret Melinowski , Ida Johnston (Herald) & Alfred Hunt
Renee will be remembered for her fierce love, her laughter, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
