Sandra K. Cottrell; age 76 of Alma passed away Monday, June 29, 2026 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Sandra was born May 7, 1950 the daughter of Donald and Laura (LaLone) Turner. She enjoyed going out for dinner at JJ Ruby’s, eating Chinese food, having an ice cream cone, cinnamon rolls from the Hearthstone Bakery and being a grandma. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Sandra is survived by children Lori (Ryan) Jackson, Jamie (Jenn) Garcia, Adam (Mandy) Garcia, Jeremy (Cortney) Cottrell, and Heather (Floyd Latoski) Garcia; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 2 siblings Chet LaLone and Diane (Vance) Carey; and several nieces and nephews. Sandy is preceded by her first husband Benitido Garcia; her second husband Verl Cottrell; 3 children Christopher Garcia, Benny Jo Garcia, and Zachary Cottrell; and siblings Donald Joseph Turner, Carolin Emma Turner, Richard Allen Turner, Rose Marie Turner, and Teena Marie Turner. Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service Saturday, August 8, at Kelley Cemetery in Oil City at 1 P.M. followed by a potluck luncheon at the Bellows and Brown Church of Christ at 3 P.M. at 1033 S Brown St., Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858. Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.
