Scott David Davis, age 60, of St. Louis, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant. Scott was born August 13, 1965, the son of Basil and Loyann (Handy) Davis. On June 25, 1988, he married the love of his life, Debra Irene Speidel.

 

 

 

Scott dedicated much of his life to serving others. He proudly served as a firefighter and first responder for the City of St. Louis, always willing to answer the call when his community needed him most. He also spent many years working in assisted living, where his compassion and willingness to go the extra mile made a lasting impact on the residents in his care. For 22 years, Scott was a steady and caring presence at Debbie’s Daycare, helping shape the lives of countless children alongside his wife.

 

 

 

Scott had a passion for life’s simple joys. He enjoyed NASCAR, RC cars, paintball, camping, train sets, bowling, and fishing. He also gave his time to coaching basketball at both the youth and high school levels in St. Louis, leaving a lasting mark on generations of players through his guidance, encouragement, and love of the game.

 

 

 

Scott will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to help others, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met. In everything he did, he led with heart and compassion, always going the extra mile for those around him.

 

Scott is survived by 6 children Carmen (Jason) Riley of Alma, Carrie (Mike) Campbell of Breckenridge, Hank DeLong of St. Louis, Chanda (Jack Higgins) DeLong of Breckenridge, Casey DeLong of Mississippi, and Corinne (Denny) Farkas of St. Louis; son-in-law Jeff Moulton of Wheeler; 13 grandchildren; 3 siblings Tonya (Karl) Perkins of New Hampshire, Russell (Melanie) Morford of Farwell, and Tammy (Bob) Sigafoose of Alma; his aunt and uncle Tyrell and Jim Handy; and several nieces and nephews. Scott is preceded in death by his wife Deb; his mother Loyann; his father Basil; and step-mother Joann Davis; his daughter Christy Moulton; and his brother Tom Davis. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private graveside at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.
