Sharon Rose Wawersik
June 12, 1942 – August 1, 2026
Sharon Rose Wawersik, 84, passed away with her family by her side. She lived a life defined by devotion, gentleness, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her. Sharon was a tough gal who faced many difficult times early in her life, yet she met every challenge with resilience and grace. She showed her strength quietly, always moving forward and loving her family deeply.
During her first marriage to Robert Rhode Sr. Sharon became the proud mother of her four children—Cindy, Candy, Bobby, and Karen—Her children were her greatest joy, and she dedicated herself to raising them with patience, strength, and unwavering love.
In the summer of 1998, Sharon married Daniel J. Wawersik, beginning a new chapter filled with companionship and simple joys. Together they enjoyed fishing, camping, cheering on the Detroit Tigers, and spending cherished time with their blended family.
Sharon found peace in the outdoors. She loved gardening, tending to her flowers, and feeding the birds—small moments that reflected her gentle nature and the way she nurtured everything around her.
Sharon is survived by her children Candy (Kent) Stalter of Mount Pleasant and Robert (Peggy) Rhode Jr. of Mount Pleasant; her step‑children Mark, Dennis, and Ann Marie; her grandchildren Josh, Jesy (Rick), Jake, Tyler, Paden (Jay), and Cathy; 14 great‑grandchildren; 2 great‑great‑grandchildren, and brother Eddie (Esther) Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dan’o; infant daughter Cindy; daughter Karen; brother David; sisters Juanita and Yvonne; step‑daughter Jane; and her parents Merle and Ella Crowley.
Per Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and was entrusted to Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In honor of Sharon, the family requests that everyone who knew and loved her raise a glass of green beer on St. Patrick’s Day, her favorite holiday.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Heartland Hospice and the staff at Divine Living Center in Mount Pleasant. Sharon truly loved the staff at Divine and the many friends she made there, and her family is deeply grateful for the care, comfort, and companionship they provided.
