Matia Marie Highley; age 20 of Mt. Pleasant passed away unexpectedly at an Adult Care Facility on September 14, 2025. Matia was born August 16, 2005 the parents of Joseph and Charity (Doty) Highley. She enjoyed listening to music and watching her cartoons; particularly the Barnyard Cartoon and Little Mermaid. She loved animals, going for rides, and spending time with family and friends. Matia always had a happy disposition as she lit up a room with her smile. Everyone who knew her, loved her. Matia is survived by her mother Charity (Mike Elmore) Highley of Leonard; her father Joseph (Amanda Rahl) Highley of Lake Isabella; sister Abigail (Carl) Fodo of Midland; grandmother Karen Kenworthy of Lake Isabella; nephews Hudson and Westley Fodo; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Matia is preceded in death by her grandparents Butch and Judy Highley; grandfather Kevin Kenworthy; and uncle Michael Highley. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life Saturday, September 27 at Island Park in Mt. Pleasant at 1 P.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.
