Robert Francis Hartupee
January 18, 1935 – October 28, 2026
Robert “Bob” Hartupee, age 91, of Shepherd, passed away on October 28, 2026, at The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant. A memorial service will be held at Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd on November 6th at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held November 5th from 3-7pm.
Bob was born on January 18, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the son of the late James Arthur and Mary Ann (McGuirk) Hartupee. He married Wanda Grace (Roberts) on July 9, 1955.
Bob loved Notre Dame football and enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the Shepherd VFW while listening to his favorite music. He was also an avid fan of the television shows Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Over the years, Bob enjoyed playing softball and bowling and cherished the friendships he made through those activities.
Bob is survived by his children, Sue Canute and Jamie (Rebecca) Hartupee of Shepherd; grandchildren Chad (Tonya) Canute, Brad (Stephanie) Canute, Tara (Chad) Scully, Mandy Hartupee (Travis Schumacher), Paige Hartupee (Jay Norton), Trent (Kim) Wheeler, and Mike Moss; as well as many beloved great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Hartupee; his wife, Wanda Grace Hartupee (2010); infant daughter, Pamela Hartupee; son, Robb Hartupee; son-in-law, Bruce Canute; sister, Patricia Backus; and brother, Joe Hartupee.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to the staff of The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Bob during his time there.
