Donald Dale Berry, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 18, 2026 at the age of 76 in Marietta, Georgia. Don was born April 21, 1950 the son of Max and Carol (Arnold) Berry.
Don was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by his love for family and spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents Max and Carol Berry, his sister, Marylynn Taylor and her husband Tracy, sister-in-law, Linda Berry, and niece Melissa Klein.
Don is survived by his son Jedediah (Beth) Berry of Marietta, Georgia; grandson Beauregard Berry; brother’s Dan (Judy) Berry of Monroe, Washington, Tom (Jeanne) Berry of Watertown, South Dakota, and Ralph (Linda Miller) Berry of Shepherd, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a proud grandfather to Beauregard Berry who was his greatest joy. He moved to Georgia in 2024 to be closer to him and loved spending time with him and their Saturday breakfasts. He is also survived by numerous nieces, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory and the many lives he touched throughout the years.
Born and raised in Michigan, Don graduated from Shepherd High School in 1968, before attending Ferris State University. Following college, he honorably served his country in the United States Army in Germany, an experience that helped shape him for the years to come.
Don managed grain elevators throughout the state of Michigan for 35 years. He enjoyed the time that he spent with the great farmers of the state and helping them and their businesses.
Don’s favorite hobby was golf and played the game for over 60 years. He was known for the loud outfits that he and Jed would wear at their member-guest tournaments and the memories that they created together. One of his proudest achievements on the golf course was a hole in one at Bucks Run Golf Club, at age 67.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Bucks Run Golf Club, 1559 S Chippewa Road, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan 48858 from 12:00 noon to 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shepherd United Methodist Church, 107 W. Wright Ave. PO Box 309, Shepherd, Michigan.
