Kristine Lee Kanine Oliver; age 49 of Alma passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 peacefully at her home surrounded by family after her long battle with cancer. Kristine was born March 8, 1976 the daughter of Jack and Stephanie (Waber) Kanine. She was a very outgoing and caring person who like to have a good time. She had many friends. She very much loved her kids, her nephew Jordan, and her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Kristine is survived by her husband Bennie; daughter Brittney LaCross; son Chike Umeh; step-son Bennie Oliver Jr.; step-daughter JaKyah Oliver; mother Stephanie Kanine; sister Kimberly (Scott) Klein; and several nieces and nephews. Kristine is preceded in death by her father Jack Kanine; grandparents Ronald and Goldie Kanine, Robert Waber, and Carol Waldofsky; aunt Sharon Ruszkowski; and her uncle Gregory Waber. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life held Saturday, August 16 at the Seville Community Church of God (8360 W Monroe Rd., Elwell, MI 48832) at 11 A.M. with visitation from 10 A.M. until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made on behalf of Kristine towards her children or the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Gratiot County. The family would like to make a heartfelt thankyou to MyMichigan Home Health Care Hospice as well as the staff at MyMichigan Medical Oncology in Alma for all their love and care.
