Steven Earl Beach, age 70, of Vestaburg, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15th, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw, Michigan.
Steve was born in Edmore, Michigan, on July 11th, 1955, to Ovid and Retha Beach. He grew up working on his parents’ farm just south of Vestaburg in Ferris Township and graduated from Vestaburg High School in 1973. Over his life, Steve held many different trades, he was a farmer, refinery worker, construction worker, roofer, concrete finisher, and diesel mechanic. Because he spent time doing a little bit of everything, it always seemed like he knew just about everything.
Steve was a truly avid, lifelong outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, mushrooming, and cutting firewood. He was a man of legendary local tall tales that happened to be true. He was famous for somehow pulling brown trout out of a creek where everyone said they couldn’t even live. He also proudly won Mac’s Farmers Market big buck contest with his impressive 13-point buck. More than anything, he loved sharing these outdoor adventures and passing down his knowledge to his grandsons, Logan, Will, great grandson Kam, nephews and great nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melanee Beach; his daughters, Stephanie (Dennis) Haas and Karen (Jimmy) Reinstra; and his stepchildren, Katrina (Dennis) Wawersik, Kenny Moore, and Kris Thrush (Rick). Steve is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Jacob Grace (Michaelann), Magen (Will Oaks), Johnny Grace, Jordan (Sara) Wing, Kassi Johnson, Tyler (Danielle) Wing, Travis Majeski, Jesse Johnson, Patrick (Tiffany) Haas, Anna Thrush, Logan (Kylynn) Avery, Travis, McKinley, and Blakely Reinstra; as well as 27 great-grandchildren. His Sister Joan (Fred) Wing, Sister in law Jodie Beach, brother in Law Chan Kirkpatrick and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and many people he called a friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ovid and Retha Beach; his brother, Elmer; his best friend, Randy; his stepdaughter, Kim; his son-in-law, Kim; his grandson, Zack; and his great-grandson, Brock.
