Noreen Mae Morford-Butler, age 71, of Perrinton, formerly of Ludington, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
Noreen was born August 21, 1954, the daughter of Franklin and Edna (Hitchcock) Morford. She spent most of her professional career in retail management, including many years with Meijer. Noreen loved being on the water and treasured every opportunity to travel throughout Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Paradise, Michigan, held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in discovering hidden historical sites and out-of-the-way places across the U.P. A true people person, Noreen formed lasting friendships wherever her travels took her. She was affectionately known as the “cool aunt” by her family and was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan.
Noreen is survived by her siblings, Ken (Sharon) Morford of Ashley, Carolyn Morford of St. Louis, and Terri (Pat) Pappas of Rosebush; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends from all walks of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Edna Morford; her infant brother, Keith Morford; her sisters, Wanda Degase and Beverly Gauthier; and her nieces, Melody Render-Liebrock and Amber Gauthier.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd, with Brian Ross officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made on behalf of Noreen to Cystic Fibrosis or the Kidney Foundation.
