Daniel David Grubich of Jackson, MI died on June 11, 2025. Dan was born May 11, 1953 in Mt.
Pleasant, PA, son of Daniel and Sarah Grubich. His service as a United States Airforce
Pararescue “PJ” in Vietnam from 1973-1975 included combat rescue operations “That Others
May Live”, flying HH53 Super Jolly helicopters. From 1975-1977 he flew B52’s. Dan was
fortunately discharged in California, where he had always wanted to live. After graduating in
1978 from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with a degree in Engineering
(BSEE), he settled in Northern California. In 2016 Dan moved with his wife to Michigan to be
near family.

Professionally, Dan was well respected in the world of Systems Networking, first in international
technical support then as a networking Systems Design Engineer. He was a great Sales
Engineer, with the ability to explain the function and abilities of his products in simple terms,
easily understood by all levels of an organization. Dan retired from IBM in a Vice President role.
Dan will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, huge heart, listening ear, and love
of family and animals. He is survived by his wife Tregna Oren, son Daniel (Marlene) Grubich,
and special beloved friend, Andrea Mostow.

Per his request there will be no memorial service.
